EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Leeds
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Age Group: Early Years
Start Date: September
Salary: £19500 - £21,500 (depending on experience)

Do you enjoy helping young children thrive in their early years? NextGen Teachers are looking for a friendly and dedicated EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in Leeds. This is a great opportunity to make a real impact, helping children grow in confidence, develop essential skills, and achieve key milestones while building valuable experience in SEN.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with SEN through 1:1 and small group sessions, helping them engage with learning and meet individual goals.
  • Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support and adapted learning activities.
  • Encourage communication, social, emotional, and independence skills through fun and engaging activities.
  • Help create a caring, inclusive, and supportive classroom where every child can succeed.
  • Develop positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents while monitoring progress and sharing feedback..

What we're looking for:

  • A caring, patient and resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND
  • Experience working with children or young people with autism, learning difficulties, or communication needs (desirable but not essential)
  • A positive, calm approach to behaviour support and emotional regulation
  • Good communication skills when working with pupils, colleagues, and families
  • A proactive attitude and ability to adapt to pupils' individual needs
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing
