Contract: Full-Time supply, term time only contract

NextGen Teachers are recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary setting in Leeds from September 2026.

This is a full-time role supporting secondary-aged students with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, communication needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support
  • Support students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs
  • Help students engage positively with lessons and school life
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Build strong and consistent relationships with students
  • Encourage confidence, independence and social development
  • Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team

What We're Looking For

Relevant experience supporting children or young people with SEN is essential.

You could have gained this experience within a school, specialist provision, alternative provision, residential setting, youth work or care environment.

We're looking for someone who is patient, resilient, reliable and confident supporting secondary-aged students with additional needs.
