This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Support Workers, Care Assistants, Healthcare Assistants, Youth Workers, Residential Support Workers or Nursery Practitioners looking to build a rewarding career within specialist education.

Whether you're already working in a school or looking to transfer your skills from another care or support setting, full training and ongoing support will be provided.

The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, communication and interaction needs, sensory processing differences, and complex learning difficulties, within a nurturing, well-resourced environment.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers, therapists and specialist support staff to provide tailored support that enables pupils to access learning, develop confidence and achieve their individual goals.

Working across both primary and secondary age groups, no two days are the same, making this a varied and rewarding opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Helping children access learning through personalised support strategies
  • Supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEND and complex learning needs
  • Encouraging communication, independence and social development
  • Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Creating a calm, structured and engaging learning environment
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience working with children or young people within education, care, healthcare or support settings
  • Experience supporting Autism (ASC), SEND, SEMH or additional needs (desirable but not essential)
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential
  • A commitment to developing a long-term career within specialist education

Previous school experience is welcomed but isn't essential if you've gained transferable experience supporting children or young people in another professional setting.

Why Join This School?

  • £100 per day
  • Full-time, term-time only position
  • Genuine temp-to-permanent opportunity after 12 weeks
  • Supportive specialist SEND school with an experienced leadership team
  • Free SEND training before you start
  • Ongoing CPD and career progression opportunities
  • Excellent experience for aspiring Teachers, Educational Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists or Behaviour Specialists
  • Small class sizes and high staff-to-pupil ratios
  • Opportunity to make a lasting difference to children's confidence, independence and future outcomes
