NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting passionate and dedicated English Teachers to work across secondary schools in Leeds and the surrounding areas.

The Role

As a Supply English Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work across a variety of secondary schools, teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering engaging and well-structured English lessons
• Teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4, where appropriate
• Following existing lesson plans and adapting lessons to meet the needs of pupils
• Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively
• Supporting students to develop their literacy, confidence and communication skills
• Maintaining high expectations of student progress and achievement
• Building positive relationships with pupils and school staff
• Providing appropriate feedback where required

About You

We're looking for English Teachers who are

• UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Passionate about English and education
• Confident teaching across a range of abilities
• Strong classroom practitioners with effective behaviour-management skills
• Reliable, adaptable and able to quickly settle into new school environments
• Excellent communicators who can build positive relationships with students
• Committed to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment
• The right to work in the UK
• The ability to provide 24 months of professional references

ECTs are very welcome to apply. Supply teaching can be an excellent way to gain experience across different schools while receiving support as you develop your teaching career.
