Salary: £19,000-£23,000 per annum
Contract: Temp-to-perm following successful trial period
Working Pattern: Full-time, term time only

NextGen Teachers are working with a specialist school in the Horley/Crawley area looking for a caring and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with transferable experience who wants to build a career working with children and young people with SEND, Autism and SEMH needs.

Your Experience Could Be Transferable

You don't need previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or SEN TA.

The skills you have developed supporting people in other settings can transfer extremely well into a specialist school environment.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and specialist staff to support pupils with additional needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Supporting pupils with SEND, Autism and SEMH
• Helping pupils engage with learning and classroom activities
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Building positive and trusting relationships
• Encouraging communication, confidence and independence
• Supporting social and life skills development
• Adapting your approach to meet individual needs
• Working closely with teachers and other professionals
• Creating a calm, safe and supportive learning environment
• Supporting pupils to recognise and celebrate their progress

Full Training Provided

You don't need to have worked in a school before.
