Location: Burgess Hill, West Sussex
Pay: £100 per day
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:45am-4:00pm (5:00pm finish Tuesdays)
Contract: Full-time, term time only, 12-week temp-to-perm
Start: September 2026

NextGen Teachers are working with a specialist SEND school in Burgess Hill that is looking for caring and reliable Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2026.

No previous school experience is required - full training and support will be provided.

The school supports pupils across primary, secondary and college age, with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, communication difficulties, sensory needs and complex learning difficulties.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support in the classroom
• Support pupils with SEND, Autism, ADHD and complex learning needs
• Help pupils develop communication, confidence and independence
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
• Create a calm, safe and supportive learning environment
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and specialist staff
• Support pupils to achieve their individual learning and development targets
• Provide personal care where required, with full training provided

Experience working with SEND, Autism, ADHD or SEMH is desirable but not essential. Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals in any setting is highly relevant.
