The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, communication and interaction needs, sensory processing difficulties, and complex learning needs within a nurturing, well-resourced environment.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers, therapists and specialist staff to provide personalised support for pupils across primary and secondary age groups.

You'll help pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and develop the skills they need to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assisting children to access learning through personalised support
  • Supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEND and complex learning needs
  • Encouraging communication, independence and confidence

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and wider support staff

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience working with children or young people within education, care, healthcare or support settings
  • Experience supporting Autism (ASC), SEND, SEMH or additional needs (desirable)
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
  • A commitment to developing a long-term career within specialist education

Previous school experience is welcomed but not essential if you have transferable experience supporting children or young people in another professional setting.

Why Apply?

  • £100 per day
  • Full-time, term-time only position
  • Genuine temp-to-permanent opportunity after 12 weeks
  • Supportive specialist SEND school with excellent staff support
  • Free SEND training before you start
  • Ongoing CPD and career progression opportunities
