The Role
You'll teach small classes of secondary-aged pupils, delivering engaging lessons that are tailored to individual learning needs. The school places a strong emphasis on building positive relationships, developing confidence, and helping every young person achieve their potential both academically and personally.
Depending on your subject specialism, there is flexibility to teach across different curriculum areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons to students across KS3 and KS4
- Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of SEND and SEMH needs
- Support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, anxiety and associated learning difficulties
- Create a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment
- Build positive relationships that encourage confidence, engagement and resilience
- Use positive behaviour strategies and relationship-based approaches to learning
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, therapists and families
- Encourage every student to achieve their individual potential
About You
We're keen to hear from teachers who:
- Hold QTS, QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Have experience teaching secondary-aged pupils
- Are passionate about inclusive education and supporting young people with additional needs
- Can build positive, trusting relationships with students who may have experienced challenges in education
- Have excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Are resilient, patient and adaptable
- Have experience within SEND, SEN, SEMH, Alternative Provision, PRUs or mainstream schools (all backgrounds welcome)
