Lead, Support and Champion Inclusive Education

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join a welcoming and supportive Primary School in WF5 from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified SENCO to play a key role in ensuring that all pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive the support, guidance, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Working closely with school leaders, teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies, you will lead the school's SEND provision and help create an inclusive environment where every child can achieve their full potential.

The Role

  • Lead and manage the school's SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice
  • Identify, assess, and monitor pupils with SEND, ensuring appropriate support is in place
  • Develop and review SEND support plans and interventions
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to promote high-quality inclusive teaching practices
  • Liaise with parents, carers, external agencies, and local authority services
  • Support the preparation and management of EHCP applications and annual reviews
  • Analyse SEND data and monitor the progress of pupils with additional needs
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to colleagues across the school
  • Contribute to the strategic development of SEND provision and inclusion across the school

About You

  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or recognised SENCO qualification
  • Proven experience working as a SENCO within a school setting
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND legislation
  • Experience managing EHCP processes and multi-agency working
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
  • A collaborative, proactive, and child-centred approach
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
