NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our partnership SEN School in Wakefield on a full-time basis, starting immediately.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive specialist setting that caters for pupils with a range of special educational needs, providing high-quality education and tailored support.

In this role you will be supporting Secondary aged pupils from 11 - 18 years who live with Autism, Communication needs and Profound and Multiple Learning Needs (PMLD). Candidates applying MUST be comfortable with personal care and manual handling.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs across KS3 and KS4

  • Support teaching staff in delivering personalised learning programmes

  • Assist with pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development

  • Help create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN (desirable)

  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

  • Relevant TA qualifications (Level 2/3 preferred but not essential)
