Part-Time SEMH Science Teacher (3 Days Per Week)

NextGen Teachers is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEMH school in Nottingham for a dedicated and passionate Science Teacher to join their team on a part-time (3 days per week), permanent basis from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who is committed to supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will play a key role in delivering engaging Science lessons that help students build confidence, develop resilience, and achieve their potential in a supportive and nurturing environment. Please not this school does not have a sponsorship licence so cannot offer sponsorship to candidates.

The Role

As the successful Science Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH needs
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage engagement and personal development
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, and senior leaders to support student progress

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Has experience teaching Science in a secondary setting
  • Has experience working with students with SEMH needs or other additional learning needs (desirable but not essential)
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management and behaviour support skills
  • Is patient, resilient, and passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people
  • Has a genuine commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
