NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Supply SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist secondary setting in Leeds.

The Role

As a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support secondary-aged students with a range of complex Special Educational Needs, working closely with teachers and other professionals to create a safe, engaging, and positive learning experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual student needs
• Supporting students with Autism (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, speech and language difficulties, and other complex needs
• Encouraging communication, independence, emotional regulation, and social development
• Assisting with personalised learning activities and adapting resources where required
• Supporting positive behaviour using consistent and nurturing approaches
• Building strong, trusting relationships with students to help them thrive both academically and personally

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs, ideally within a specialist school or alternative provision
• Is patient, resilient, empathetic, and able to remain calm in challenging situations
• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Is committed to providing high-quality support for students with complex needs
• Has a genuine passion for helping young people achieve their full potential
