Location: Leeds
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Age Group: 4-16 years
Start Date: September
Salary: £32,916.00 - 51,048.00 (depending on experience)
NextGen Teachers are looking for a qualified and exceptional teacher to join a welcoming school in September. The right candidate will be QTS certified, have experience in a SEND setting, with a special focus on Autism, Complex Communication needs, Severe Learning Difficulties and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver highly differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP outcomes
- Use specialist approaches such as TEACCH, sensory-based learning, and structured routines
- Adapt the curriculum toward functional skills, communication, and independence rather than purely academic outcomes
- Manage a class team (TAs) to deliver consistent, structured support
- Support sensory regulation and behaviour through proactive strategies
- Understand medical, physical, or personal care needs where relevant
- Teach pupils with autism, severe/profound learning difficulties, and communication needs
What we're looking for:
- QTS certified Teacher with experience in SEND/Specialist education
- Experience working with pupils with autism (ASC), SLD, PMLD, or complex communication needs
- Ability to differentiate learning for pupils working significantly below age-related expectations
- Understanding of EHCPs and how to translate targets into meaningful classroom practice
- A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour and sensory regulation
- Ability to lead and deploy teaching assistants effectively within a classroom team
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
