We are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Wakefield to recruit an experienced Year 1 Teacher for a part-time position. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school with a strong team ethos and a clear focus on high-quality teaching and learning.

The school is looking for a confident and knowledgeable practitioner who understands the importance of the KS1 transition from EYFS, and can deliver engaging, structured lessons that support pupils in building strong foundations in their learning.

The Role

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Year 1 curriculum
• Support pupils in their transition from EYFS to Key Stage 1
• Create an engaging, well-structured classroom environment that promotes learning
• Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress effectively
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents
• Contribute to the wider school community

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Proven experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1
• A strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics delivery
• Confidence in planning, assessment, and pupil progress tracking
• A proactive, organised, and reliable approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning
