NextGen Teachers are proud to be working in partnership with a fantastic Primary School based in Wakefield (WF2) who are seeking to recruit a full-time Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to support Primary children in Year 1 and Year 2 (KS1) for a full-time / permanent contract.

This role is ideal for individuals who have experience working with Primary aged children and who have experience and knowledge of working with children in KS1 and have Phonics experience ideally with Little Wandle or Read Write Inc.

This is a mid-sized Primary school with very good behaviour and the school are looking for someone who has 12 months of experience working in a Primary school. Working with Year 1 / Year 2 children is desirable and having Phonics / Intervention experience is required.

About the Role

As an Primary KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support the class teacher with planning, preparation and classroom management
• Support children in small group Interventions in; Reading, Writing, Maths and Phonics
• Support children on a 1:1 basis with learning difficulties

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience supporting children or young people in a Primary school in KS1

• Have experience with Interventions and Phonics

• Be patient, resilient, and compassionate

• Be reliable, committed, and looking for a permanent role
