NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a Primary Classroom Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Halifax area on a flexible supply basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and caring education professional who enjoys working with children and wants the flexibility that supply work can offer. The successful candidate will support pupils across the primary age range, helping to create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

The Role

As a Primary Classroom Support Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers and other support staff to help pupils get the most from their education. Responsibilities may include:

• Supporting pupils with their learning and development, both individually and in small groups
• Assisting the class teacher with classroom activities and daily routines
• Providing additional support to pupils who may require extra guidance or encouragement
• Helping to maintain a calm, positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Supporting pupils' social, emotional and personal development
• Preparing classroom resources and assisting with activities
• Supervising pupils during break times, lunchtimes and other school activities where required
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about supporting children and helping them succeed
• Patient, caring and approachable
• Confident working with children across the primary age range
• Able to build positive relationships quickly
• Reliable, adaptable and happy working on a supply basis
• A strong team player with excellent communication skills
• Able to use initiative while following the direction of teaching staff
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Has the right to work in the UK
• Holds an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete one)

Previous experience working within a primary school, nursery, childcare or similar setting is highly desirable. Relevant qualifications are welcomed but not essential where suitable experience can be demonstrated.
