SEN Teaching Assistant / HLTA - Primary School

Hours: Part-Time - Monday & Tuesday Full Days + Wednesday Mornings

NextGen Teachers are recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant / HLTA to join a welcoming primary school in the DN9 area of Doncaster from 21st September.

This is a varied part-time position combining 1:1 SEN support with HLTA responsibilities, including providing PPA cover across the school.

Candidates applying for this role MUST have experience as a HLTA / Cover Supervisor covering classes in a Primary school. This is a combination of 121 SEN Support and HLTA cover.

The Role

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN
• Supporting the pupil's learning, engagement and development
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team
• Providing HLTA/PPA cover when required
• Leading classes and delivering planned lessons during PPA time
• Creating a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment

About You

We're looking for someone who is patient, confident and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, 1:1 Teaching Assistant or HLTA would be highly beneficial. You should also be comfortable leading a class independently when providing PPA cover.

This is initially a 1-year contract, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.
