Behaviour Mentor - Primary School (KS2 Focus)
Location: Leeds Primary School (LS9)

NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for an experienced Behaviour Mentor to work within a supportive and inclusive primary school in Leeds, primarily supporting pupils across Key Stage 2. This is a full-time role and candidates must be available to start ASAP.

The school promotes high standards of behaviour and a positive learning culture, with a strong focus on rewarding effort, encouraging responsibility and celebrating pupil success through consistent whole-school strategies. Staff use clear and consistent approaches to support behaviour and help children understand expectations within a structured environment.

This role will involve working closely with pupils who require additional behavioural support, helping them regulate emotions, engage in learning and build positive relationships.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils across KS2 with behavioural and pastoral needs
  • Delivering 1:1 behaviour mentoring and small group interventions
  • Implementing positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
  • Supporting classroom engagement and learning readiness
  • Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff
  • Encouraging responsibility, resilience and positive choices
  • Monitoring progress and reporting on behaviour support plans

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, or similar
  • Experience supporting primary-aged pupils, ideally within KS2
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils
  • Must be available full-time and able to start ASAP
