Next Generation Teachers are proud to be working in partnership with A Specialist School in Barnsley to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Inclusion Support Worker to join their exceptional team.

About the Role

As an Inclusion Support Worker, you'll provide both academic and emotional support to pupils with SEMH and additional needs, helping them to engage positively with learning and daily school life. You'll work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and other professionals to promote inclusion, independence, and wellbeing.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with SEMH and behavioural needs in class and small group settings

  • Building strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage trust and engagement

  • Assisting with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies

  • Helping deliver tailored learning and emotional support plans

  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Empathetic, patient, and resilient

  • Experienced in working with children or young people, ideally within SEMH or alternative provision settings

  • Able to build strong relationships and maintain clear professional boundaries

  • A team player with excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude

  • Passionate about supporting inclusive education and improving outcomes for all learners

Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant Support, Youth Work, or similar) are desirable but not essential.
