Contract: Temporary to permanent contract. Monday - Friday (8:00-3:30). Term time only
Start date: ASAP
Salary: £110-£130 per day (dependant on experience)

Key Responsibilities
As Head of Year, you will play a pivotal pastoral and leadership role, ensuring every student in your year group feels supported, inspired, and able to succeed. You will:
- Take responsibility for the welfare, behaviour, and academic progress of students in your year group.
- Communicate effectively with staff, families, and external agencies to secure the best outcomes.
- Plan and deliver interventions and enrichment opportunities that raise aspirations and foster independence.
- Provide targeted support for students with social, emotional, or mental health challenges.
- Track, monitor, and analyse progress, attainment, attendance, and punctuality, leading initiatives for improvement.
- Promote a culture of high expectations, modelling positive behaviour and attitudes.
- Be a visible and approachable presence for students, staff, and parents.
- Support behaviour management across the school, ensuring consistent practice.
- Collaborate with the safeguarding team as a designated lead, where appropriate.
- Develop alternative provision timetables for students who require additional support.
The ideal candidate will have:
We are seeking a candidate who demonstrates both professional expertise and genuine passion for student wellbeing. You will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience in a pastoral and/or leadership role.
- A track record of effective behaviour management and student support strategies.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A calm, caring, and resilient approach to supporting young people.
- Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection.
- An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
