Contract: Part-Time, Term-Time Only

Salary: £92.60 - £95 per day (dependent on experience)

We are looking for a dedicated and nurturing 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil with Autism and ADHD. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to build a meaningful relationship with a child who benefits from consistent, personalised support, helping them develop confidence, independence, and success both inside and outside the classroom.
In addition to providing specialist classroom support, you will also play an important role in the school's breakfast club, helping pupils start their day feeling settled, supported, and ready to learn.

Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored 1:1 support for a named pupil, ensuring EHCP targets are effectively embedded within daily learning
Adapt learning activities and resources to meet the pupil's individual strengths, needs, and learning style
Support the development of communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and independence skills
Use appropriate communication techniques and strategies to maximise engagement and understanding
Implement consistent behaviour support approaches and emotional wellbeing strategies
Monitor, record, and report on progress against EHCP outcomes and individual targets
Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school team to deliver a personalised and consistent support plan
Support sensory regulation needs, including movement breaks and tailored interventions where required
Provide personal care support with dignity, sensitivity, and respect when needed
Assist with breakfast club, creating a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for pupils before the school day begins
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience supporting children within Key Stage 2
Previous experience working with pupils with Autism and ADHD
A caring, patient, and empathetic approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
The ability to remain calm, consistent, and positive when supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team
A commitment to helping every child feel valued, supported, and successful
