Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
SEN Teaching Assistant / Psychology Graduate - KS1
Leeds | Full-Time | Minimum 1-Year Contract
NextGen Teachers are recruiting a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant / Psychology Graduate to join a large, welcoming and inclusive primary school in Leeds.
You will support a small group of approximately 10 children in KS1 with significant SEND needs, including Autism (ASC), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology graduate looking to gain valuable experience before progressing into Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, teaching or another SEND-related career.
The Role
- Supporting KS1 children with significant SEND needs
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
- Helping pupils access learning through structured and differentiated activities
- Working closely with teachers and the school's SEND team
- Building positive and consistent relationships with pupils
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- A Psychology graduate or experienced SEN Teaching Assistant
- Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
- Patient, resilient, caring and reliable
- Comfortable supporting children with Autism, SLCN and SEMH
- Able to commit to a full-time role for a minimum of one year
Previous school experience is beneficial but not essential for the right graduate.
