NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Worker (BSW) to work at a secondary school in Keighley on a supply basis.
This role will primarily involve working within the school's onsite provision, supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students re-engage with learning, manage behaviour positively, and develop essential social and emotional skills.
The Role:
- Supporting students with SEMH needs within the onsite provision
- Building strong, positive relationships with pupils who may present challenging behaviour
- Providing 1:1 and small group support
- Assisting in de-escalation and behaviour management strategies
- Working closely with teaching staff, SENCO and pastoral teams
- Encouraging student engagement, confidence and progress
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with young people with SEMH needs (school, PRU, alternative provision or similar setting)
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Calm, patient and resilient approach
- Ability to build rapport quickly and effectively
- Team player with good communication skills
- The right to work in the UK
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Two professional references
