Behaviour Support Worker - Bradford
ASAP Start | Full-Time (Term-Time Only) | 8:30am-3:30pm
NextGen Teachers are recruiting for a Behaviour Support Assistant to join a fantastic specialist SEN school in central Bradford. This well-regarded setting supports young people aged 11-18 with a range of complex needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, behavioural needs, learning difficulties, physical/medical needs, Down syndrome and other specialist needs.
We are looking for candidates who are available to start ASAP firstly on a supply basis with the view of extending onto a contract. Candidates applying for this role must have professional experience working with students with SEN / Behavioural needs.
Your Role:
Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group behaviour support
De-escalate challenging situations using positive behaviour strategies
Support students with SEMH, behavioural needs and complex SEN
Build trusting relationships to encourage engagement, confidence and self-regulation
Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and therapists to deliver holistic support
Promote emotional well-being, independence and positive routines
Assist with personal care or mobility needs where required (training provided)
We're looking for someone who is:
Calm, patient and resilient when supporting students with behavioural or SEMH needs
Confident using de-escalation strategies and building rapport
Proactive, reliable and a strong team player
Experienced in SEN, youth work, care, mentoring or behaviour support (preferred but not essential)
