Contract: Temp to Perm
Hours: Full-Time - Monday to Friday - 8:30am - 3:30pm - Term Time Only
Salary: £95 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
NextGen are recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEND school in Leeds with an ASAP start. The school looks after children aged 5 - 16 catering to pupils with a range of identified SEN needs including Complex Communication, Autism, Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
You'll be supporting a child who is primary age with complex communication and autism to build confidence and develop key skills on a 1: 1 basis.
The Role:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN
- Supporting the pupil's learning, engagement and development
- Working closely with the class teacher and the wider SEN team to create an inclusive and collaborative environment
- Foster a positive, inclusive and nurturing environment that supports learning and well being
- Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and welfare of all pupils
- Monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate any concerns to teaching staff and senior leaders
Who We're Looking For:
- Experience working with Primary Ages is essential
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Calm, patient and positive approach
- Team player, willing to learn and support staff
- Committed to safeguarding and pupil welfare
- Focused on inclusion, progress and development
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, anxiety or communication needs is desirable
- Has the right to work in the UK
- Holds an enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
