NextGen Teachers are working with a lovely independent school in Crawley to recruit a confident, proactive and self-sufficient Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a Key Stage 1 pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced education professional who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential.

  • Supporting classroom activities, learning engagement and participation throughout the school day.
  • Adapting learning activities and your approach to meet the pupil's individual needs.
  • Encouraging confidence, independence and positive interactions within the classroom.
  • Working proactively and using your own initiative to provide consistent, effective support.
  • Building a positive working relationship with the pupil, teacher and wider school team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to a child's educational experience while working within a supportive independent school.

The school is seeking an experienced and confident Teaching Assistant who can provide high-quality SEN support with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working within a primary school or classroom setting.

  • Be confident, proactive and comfortable working independently.
  • Have a patient, adaptable and positive approach to supporting children.
  • Be able to build strong relationships and encourage learning, engagement and independence.

Previous classroom and SEN experience is essential for this position, as the successful candidate will need to confidently manage the support required throughout the school day.
