SEN Learning Support Assistant

Location: Dorking, Surrey
Salary: £25,750 per annum (actual salary)
Contract: Permanent | Full-time | Term-time only

Essential: Driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the school's rural location

NextGen Teachers are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school near Dorking.

The school supports young people with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and additional learning needs. You'll work closely with a tutor group throughout the school day, helping pupils engage with learning, manage transitions and build confidence.

The role

• Support pupils in lessons, individually and in small groups
• Build positive and consistent relationships with young people
• Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and additional needs
• Help pupils regulate emotions and re-engage with learning
• Use calm, clear and consistent behaviour support
• Work alongside teachers, SEN staff and the therapy team

About you

Previous SEN or school experience is beneficial but not essential, as training can be provided.

We're looking for someone who is positive, proactive, resilient and reliable, with a genuine interest in supporting young people.

You will ideally have GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) and must be able to drive with access to your own vehicle.

This could suit a SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Learning Mentor or Support Worker, as well as someone with transferable experience looking to move into specialist education.
