SEMH Teaching Assistant - Full-Time, Term Time

Pay: £14.35 per hour including holiday pay, increasing to £130 per day after 12 weeks
Hours: Monday-Friday, 33.75 hours per week
Contract: Long-term temporary | Term time only
School holidays off

NextGen Teachers are looking for a caring and resilient Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their experience within specialist education. You'll receive support and training from the school, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent position.

The role

You'll work alongside teachers and the wider support team to:

• Support pupils with SEMH and additional needs
• Provide 1:1 and small-group classroom support
• Help pupils engage with learning and overcome barriers
• Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and independence
• Provide calm and consistent support when pupils are struggling
• Help create a positive and supportive learning environment

We're looking for someone who:

• Is patient, resilient and genuinely interested in supporting young people
• Can build positive relationships with pupils
• Has a calm and reassuring approach
• Works well as part of a team
• Has GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
• Can commit to Monday-Friday during term time

Experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Support Worker or Classroom Assistant would be beneficial.
