Pay: £14.41 per hour
Hours: Monday-Friday, 10:00am-2:00pm
Contract: Temp-to-perm

Are you looking for a part-time role working with children that fits around school hours?

We are looking for a Personal Support Assistant (PSA) to join a friendly SEN school in Burgess Hill, supporting primary-aged children during some of the busiest parts of the school day.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys working with children and wants to gain experience in a school environment. You could come from a childcare, nursery, care, support work or family background - or simply be looking for a change of career and a role where you can make a difference.

The role

As a PSA, you will provide an extra pair of hands in the classroom and help children during busy transition times, including:

• Supporting children to get ready for break and lunchtime
• Helping children with transitions around the school
• Providing additional support within the classroom
• Helping staff during busy periods of the day
• Supporting children with their individual needs
• Building positive relationships with the children and helping them feel settled and supported

You do not need previous SEN experience, as the school will provide support and guidance. What matters most is that you are patient, caring, reliable and comfortable working with children.

• Has experience with children through childcare, nursery, family, care or support work

An enhanced DBS check and full compliance checks will be required, and successful candidates will be expected to complete an unpaid trial day before starting the role.
