Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant - Complex Needs
Location: Reigate, Surrey
Salary: £17,067 per annum (£24,420 FTE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am-3:30pm
Additional hours: 8:30am start one morning per week for a staff meeting
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and complex learning difficulties?

NextGen Teachers are looking for dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join its specialist team, supporting children aged 2-11 with a range of severe learning difficulties, complex medical needs and care requirements.
This is a challenging but incredibly rewarding opportunity where you'll play an important role in helping children develop their communication, independence, confidence and life skills.
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with experienced teachers and specialist staff to provide personalised support for pupils with a range of complex needs.
Your role will involve:
- Supporting children on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Helping pupils access learning and classroom activities
- Supporting children with Autism (ASC) and severe learning difficulties
- Assisting pupils with complex medical and care needs
- Encouraging communication, independence and social development
- Supporting pupils' personal and emotional wellbeing
- Creating a safe, calm and nurturing learning environment
- Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team
Who We're Looking For
Previous experience working with children with SEND or complex needs is preferred, particularly experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC).
We're also keen to hear from candidates with backgrounds in:
Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Care Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker, Children's Support Worker, Nursery Practitioner
Experience within a medical, healthcare or care environment is particularly welcomed due to the complex medical and care needs of some pupils.

Full Training and Support Provided
You don't need to have experience with every aspect of specialist SEND education.
