We are recruiting a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-established specialist SEN school in Croydon that delivers a structured, GCSE-focused curriculum for students with additional learning needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support young people academically, socially, and emotionally within a supportive secondary environment that prioritises both achievement and wellbeing.

The Role

As a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students across KS3 and KS4. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), SEMH, ADHD, Speech & Language difficulties, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).

You will help students access learning, remain engaged in lessons, and build the confidence and skills needed to succeed academically.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting students across GCSE and core curriculum subjects
• Delivering 1:1 and small group intervention support
• Assisting with behaviour regulation and classroom engagement
• Supporting pupils with SEN / SEND to access learning effectively
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
• Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours
• Creating a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, Behaviour Mentor, or Support Worker
• Passionate about SEN, SEND, SEMH, and inclusive education
• Confident supporting secondary-aged students
• Calm, resilient, and proactive in their approach
• Committed to helping young people achieve academically and personally
• A strong communicator who works well within a team
