Pay: £22,100 per annum
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday | Term Time Only

We are recruiting a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a well-established specialist SEN school in Croydon that delivers a structured, GCSE-focused curriculum for students with additional learning needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support young people academically, socially, and emotionally within a supportive secondary environment that prioritises both achievement and wellbeing.
The Role
As a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support students across KS3 and KS4. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), SEMH, ADHD, Speech & Language difficulties, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).
You will help students access learning, remain engaged in lessons, and build the confidence and skills needed to succeed academically.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting students across GCSE and core curriculum subjects
- Delivering 1:1 and small group intervention support
- Assisting with behaviour regulation and classroom engagement
- Supporting pupils with SEN / SEND to access learning effectively
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours
- Creating a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, Behaviour Mentor, or Support Worker
- Passionate about SEN, SEND, SEMH, and inclusive education
- Confident supporting secondary-aged students
- Calm, resilient, and proactive in their approach
- Committed to helping young people achieve academically and personally
- A strong communicator who works well within a team
