We are seeking a compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Burgess Hill. This role is perfect for someone who understands that supporting children with complex needs requires a "care-first" approach-building trust, providing emotional security, and fostering independence.
The Highlights
- Pay: £90 - £110 per day (DOE).
- Contract: 12-week Temp-to-Perm following a successful trial day.
- Hours: 8:45am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only).
- Location: Burgess Hill (Well connected by public transport).
- Start Date: Immediate Start available.
- Support: Free pre-placement training to help you transition your skills into the classroom.
Your Impact as a SEND Teaching Assistant
Supporting pupils across Primary and Secondary age groups, you will provide the essential "wraparound" support that allows students with additional needs to thrive. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Care & Support: Providing 1:1 care and tailored assistance to help pupils build their confidence in the classroom.
- Nurturing Environment: Creating a calm, safe, and structured space where every child feels valued and understood.
- Relationship Building: Developing deep, trusting bonds that focus on boosting their self-esteem and social skills alongside their education levels.
- School Liaison: Working closely with teachers and support staff to ensure lesson delivery is accessible, inclusive, and gentle.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant who is dependable and motivated. We highly value applicants with a background in Care, Support Work, or Healthcare, as well as those with:
- A genuine passion for the care and wellbeing of young people with additional needs.
- A resilient and calm nature-the ability recognise dysregulation and proactively complete the necessary steps to ensure emotional stability
- Keen Interest or Experience in care settings, youth services, or residential support (highly desirable).
- An eager, proactive attitude and the desire to start making a difference immediately.
