1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant | Specialist Primary Support | Crawley

NextGen Teachers are looking for dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistants to support several local primary schools in Crawley. If you are a compassionate person with experience in education or care, this is your opportunity to provide the personalised support that allows a child with additional needs to truly thrive.

The Opportunity

• Location: Crawley (Specialist Primary Settings).
• Pay: £90 - £95.
• Hours: 08:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only).
• Contract: 12-week temporary placement leading to a Permanent Contract.
• Support: Access to Free Pre-Placement Training to enhance your SEND understanding.

The Role:

• Support and Care: Providing 1:1 support for children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, and Speech & Language difficulties
• Adjusting lessons: Adapting learning materials to suit the students, ensuring every lesson is an inclusive experience.
• Emotional Support: Assist pupils with emotional regulation and help them navigate positive behaviour choices in a calm manner.
• Liaison with school: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to adapt materials and maintain a safe, nurturing classroom.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Specialist Interest: An interest or Experience in supporting children and young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and/or SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
• Resilient Demeanor: The ability to remain composed, patient, and assertive when navigating and de-escalating challenging behaviors.
• Proactive Mindset: A team player with the social skills necessary for clear and effective communication.
• Committed: to securing a permanent role following the temporary period
