Contract: Temporary - Full-Time (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm), Term Time Only
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £160 - £230 per day (dependent on experience)

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the next generation of geographers, helping students develop a deeper understanding of the world around them, from physical landscapes and environmental challenges to global systems and cultural diversity.

About the Role

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality Geography lessons that promote curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of the subject
  • Inspire A Level students to explore key geographical themes, apply analytical skills, and achieve outstanding academic outcomes.
  • Prepare students effectively for A Level examinations and coursework, ensuring progress and confidence in both human and physical geography topics.
  • Contribute to the wider Humanities faculty, sharing good practice and supporting cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Play an active role in creating a positive, inclusive, and ambitious sixth form learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and has experience teaching A Level Geography (additional Humanities subjects desirable).
  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge across both physical and human geography, with enthusiasm for fieldwork and enquiry-based learning.
  • Understands A Level specifications and assessment requirements, with a proven ability to support students to achieve top grades.
  • Has high expectations of students, fostering resilience, curiosity, and independence in their learning.
  • Brings excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with students and colleagues alike.
  • Is committed to inclusive teaching practices.
  • Works collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to departmental development and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and a proactive attitude in a dynamic sixth form setting.
  • Holds (or is willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS and understands safeguarding responsibilities.
