About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of English to join one of our partnership Secondary schools in Kirklees for a full-time contract starting from January 2026. This is an Outstanding school with a thriving English Department. The successful candidate will teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, inspiring a love of reading, writing and critical thinking!
This is an outstanding school for Behaviour and many students are working at greater depth levels.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious teacher who is passionate about their subject and eager to make a positive impact on student progress and achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in English Language and Literature across KS3-KS5. 
- Contribute to the continued development of an engaging and challenging English curriculum. 
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to ensure all learners achieve their potential. 
- Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment where students feel motivated and supported. 
- Participate in departmental meetings, collaborative planning, and whole-school professional development. 
- Support and contribute to extra-curricular activities related to English and literacy. 
About You
- A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with a degree in English or a related subject. 
- Proven experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4, with the ability to deliver KS5 lessons an advantage. 
- A strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English Language and Literature. 
- Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to maintaining high expectations for all learners. 
- A reflective practitioner who seeks continual professional growth.
