Contract: Full-time (Monday-Friday from 8:30am - 3:30pm)

Salary: £18,500 - £19,500 (depending on experience)

Are you a nurturing, enthusiastic, and patient individual with a passion for supporting early years learning? A welcoming and supportive primary school in Leeds is seeking a dedicated Nursery Teaching Assistant to join their EYFS team full-time from January 2026.

Candidates applying for this role must have experience working in Nursery or EYFS settings recently.

The Role

As the Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting children aged 3-4 within a vibrant early years setting. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS activities.

  • Working closely with children to help them achieve developmental milestones.

  • Assisting with phonics, play-based learning, and small-group work.

  • Providing pastoral support, encouragement, and positive behaviour guidance.

  • Helping to prepare resources and maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment.

  • Building strong relationships with children, staff, and parents.

Requirements

  • Experience working with young children in a school or nursery setting (EYFS experience essential).

  • Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.

  • A valid DBS or willingness to obtain one.

  • Relevant childcare or teaching assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
