SEN Teaching Assistant - Autism and PMLD

Salary: £90 per day

NextGen Teachers are working with a specialist setting in Wakefield to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism (ASC) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

This role involves supporting learners with complex needs, including communication difficulties, sensory needs, and personal care, helping them to access education in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASC and PMLD

• Supporting learning through structured routines and sensory-based activities

• Assisting with personal care and mobility where required

• Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with Autism and/or PMLD (education or care experience welcomed)

• A valid DBS registered on the Update Service (essential)

• A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

NextGen Teachers offer:
