SEN Teaching Assistant - Leeds
Salary: £19,000-£20,000 per year
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm | Term-Time Only

NextGen Teachers are looking for dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming, inclusive school in Leeds. You will support pupils with Autism, ADHD, and a range of social, emotional, and learning needs, along with complex needs. This role is ideal for someone calm, patient, and nurturing, who is motivated to help pupils build confidence, independence, and essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils in the classroom and in small-group or one-to-one interventions

  • Assist with individual learning plans, emotional regulation, and daily routines

  • Apply consistent, trauma-informed strategies to help pupils feel safe, supported, and ready to learn

  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and wider support teams to promote inclusion

  • Contribute to a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience supporting children or young people in schools, care, youth work, or similar settings

  • Calm, patient, proactive, and reliable approach

  • Genuine passion for helping children with additional needs thrive

  • DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one promptly

  • Availability to start immediately
