Supply Salary: £90 - £95 per day
Temp to Perm Salary: £19,500 - £21,000 per annum, depending on experience

Are you a caring, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs?

NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work within the school's Informal Pathway with EYFS-style learning.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with younger children with complex additional needs and wants to play an important role in their learning, communication, confidence and development.

The Informal Pathway provides a highly supportive and structured learning environment for pupils with needs including Autism, ADHD, severe learning needs and complex communication difficulties. Learning is centred around individual needs, predictable routines, sensory exploration and developing key early learning and life skills.

The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils within the Informal Pathway and EYFS environment.
• Provide nurturing and individualised support based on each child's needs and abilities.
• Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, severe learning needs and complex communication needs.
• Help deliver engaging activities linked to pupils' individual learning outcomes.
• Support children's communication, sensory development, confidence and independence.
• Establish and maintain positive, trusting relationships with pupils.

The role will initially be offered on a supply basis, with the opportunity to progress into a Temp to Perm position for the right candidate.

If successful in progressing to the permanent position, the salary will be £19,500 - £21,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

• Patient, caring and compassionate, with a genuine passion for working with children with SEND.
• Confident supporting children with complex additional needs.
• Comfortable working within a structured and nurturing environment.
• Able to build strong and positive relationships with pupils.
• Calm and consistent when supporting children who may display challenging behaviours.
• Creative and enthusiastic about sensory, play-based and practical learning.
• Comfortable supporting with personal care where required.
• A strong team player who works well alongside teachers and SEN professionals.
• Reliable, adaptable and willing to learn.
• Passionate about helping children develop their communication, confidence and independence.

Requirement

• Experience within a school, nursery, childcare, care or support setting is highly desirable.
• Experience working with Autism, ADHD, complex communication needs or severe learning difficulties is advantageous.
• Experience working with children within an EYFS or primary setting is desirable.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• A genuine commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.
• References covering your recent experience.
