Location: Leeds
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only - Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £92.60 per day (minimum)
NextGen Teachers are delighted to be supporting a warm and inclusive primary school in the Leeds area, who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with a wide range of additional needs, including PMLD, autism (ASC), ADHD, medical needs, and complex learning difficulties.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across the classroom, working with individuals and small groups to help overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and support both academic and personal development. You will be part of a caring and supportive team committed to creating engaging, inclusive, and meaningful learning experiences for every child.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom-based support to pupils with a range of complex SEN needs
- Support children with PMLD, ASC, ADHD, medical needs, and communication difficulties
- Adapt learning approaches to meet individual needs and promote inclusion
- Assist class teachers in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
- Work collaboratively with school staff and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex SEN needs
- A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding and related procedures
- An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Minimum GCSE Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in English, Maths and Science
- Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) - desirable
- Team Teach trained - desirable
