Location: Leeds
Contract: Temporary - full-time (Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30), term time only
Start date: ASAP
Duration: July (possibility of extension)
Salary: £160 - £220 per day (dependent on experience)

At NextGen Teachers, we're delighted to be working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Leeds to recruit a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire curiosity and a love of science across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics while making a real difference to students' academic progress and personal development.

About the Role

  • Teach high-quality, well-structured Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics
  • Deliver engaging and practical lessons that develop scientific thinking, enquiry skills and subject knowledge

  • Support students in achieving excellent outcomes and developing the skills needed for further study, apprenticeships or employment

  • Prepare students effectively for assessments and GCSE examinations

  • Contribute to the wider Science department, sharing good practice and collaborating effectively with colleagues

  • Play an active role in shaping a positive, inclusive and ambitious school community where every student can thrive

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Has strong subject knowledge across all three sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics)
  • Understands safeguarding responsibilities
  • Holds (or is willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS
  • Passionate about teaching and learning, with the drive to inspire curiosity and stretch students' thinking
  • Understanding of exam requirements and experience preparing students for assessments
  • Commitment to inclusive practice, ensuring all learners feel supported and able to succeed, regardless of background
  • Resilient and adaptable, with the capacity to thrive in a busy secondary school environment
  • High expectations of students, with the ability to motivate and support them to achieve their full potential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students and colleagues
