About the Role

NextGen Teachers is recruiting passionate and committed Secondary Teachers to join welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Leeds and the surrounding areas for April starts.

We are currently recruiting for a variety of subject specialisms, including (but not limited to):
English, Maths, Science, Humanities, MFL, Design Technology, Art, PE, Computing, and Business Studies.

This role is ideal for qualified teachers looking to secure a consistent teaching position within a supportive secondary school environment. We have both long-term and permanent opportunities available and will match roles to your subject specialism, experience, and career goals.

You will be responsible for full classroom teaching duties, delivering high-quality subject-specific lessons, assessing progress, and contributing positively to the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons within your subject specialism

  • Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 where applicable)

  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners

  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders

  • Contribute to departmental planning, meetings, and wider school activities

  • Uphold safeguarding and professional standards at all times

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential

  • Recent experience teaching within a secondary school setting

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Subject-specific knowledge and curriculum understanding

  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning

  • Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
