School Support Assistant - Primary School (Supply Basis)

NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a compassionate and enthusiastic School Support Assistant to work within a welcoming primary school in the Rothwell (LS26) area of Leeds.

This is a supply-based role, offering a mixture of:

• Full-day Teaching Assistant support
• After-school club support work
• Additional needs support across the primary age range

The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who may require additional learning or emotional support, helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging school environment.

The Role:

• Supporting children within the classroom on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Assisting pupils with additional needs
• Supporting class teachers with learning activities
• Supervising and engaging pupils during after-school club sessions
• Encouraging positive behaviour and social development
• Helping to create a safe and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young people
• A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

Desirable:

• First Aid Trained
• Experience supporting children with additional needs (SEN/SEND)
• Background in schools, childcare, youth work, or support work
