NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a Caretaker to work primarily within a welcoming Primary School in the BD15 area of Bradford.

We are looking for a reliable, practical and proactive individual who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and well-presented school environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous caretaking, premises, maintenance or facilities experience, although candidates with a strong practical background will also be considered.

The Role

As a School Caretaker, your responsibilities may include:

• Opening and securing the school premises
• Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs
• Ensuring the school grounds and facilities are safe and well maintained
• Completing regular health and safety checks
• Setting up and moving furniture and equipment when required
• Supporting the school with deliveries and general site duties
• Reporting any maintenance issues or hazards promptly
• Working alongside school staff to ensure the premises are safe, welcoming and fit for purpose
• Carrying out other reasonable duties to support the smooth running of the school

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Practical and confident carrying out general maintenance tasks
• Able to work independently and use their own initiative
• Friendly, approachable and professional
• Comfortable working within a school environment
• Committed to maintaining high standards of health, safety and cleanliness
• Flexible regarding working hours and duties
• Has the right to work in the UK
• Holds an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete one)
• Can provide 24 months of professional references

Previous experience within a school or educational setting would be advantageous, but is not essential.
