About the Role

NextGen Teachers is recruiting passionate and committed Primary Teachers to join welcoming and supportive primary schools across Leeds and the surrounding areas for April starts.

We are currently recruiting for teachers across:

  • Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

  • Key Stage 1

  • Key Stage 2

This role is ideal for qualified teachers looking to secure a consistent teaching position within a supportive primary school environment. We have both long-term and permanent opportunities available and will match roles to your preferred key stage, experience, and career goals.

You will be responsible for full classroom teaching duties, delivering high-quality, engaging lessons across the primary curriculum, assessing progress, and contributing positively to the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons in line with the National Curriculum

  • Teach across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 (depending on experience and preference)

  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners

  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders

  • Contribute to year group planning, meetings, and wider school activities

  • Uphold safeguarding and professional standards at all times

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential

  • Recent experience teaching within a primary school setting

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Secure understanding of the primary curriculum

  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning

  • Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
