Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or Behaviour Support Worker looking to make a real difference in a Post-16 setting?

We are recruiting a Post-16 Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Horsham, supporting Key Stage 5 students within PSHE and life skills-focused learning. This is a rewarding opportunity to help young people with additional needs develop confidence, independence, and essential skills for adulthood.

The Role

As a Post-16 LSA, you will support students both inside and outside the classroom, helping them engage with learning, regulate emotions, and prepare for life beyond education.

You will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to provide consistent support tailored to individual student needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students through 1:1 and small group interventions
  • Assisting with PSHE, life skills, and independence-focused learning
  • Supporting behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Encouraging confidence, communication, and social interaction
  • Helping students develop independence and preparation for adulthood
  • Building positive and consistent relationships with young people
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff
  • Following safeguarding procedures and contributing to ongoing training

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, Behaviour Support Worker, or similar
  • Confident supporting young people with SEN, SEND, SEMH, or additional needs
  • Calm, patient, and resilient in their approach
  • Passionate about supporting independence and life outcomes
  • A strong communicator and team player
  • Motivated to build long-term experience within SEN education
