The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in helping pupils engage with learning, develop independence, and achieve their individual goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing tailored support to pupils with Autism and additional learning needs
Building positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence, engagement, and emotional wellbeing
Supporting pupils to access learning through personalised strategies and adapted activities
Encouraging communication, independence, and social development
Implementing EHCP targets, behaviour support plans, and individual care plans
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour using consistent approaches
Working alongside teachers, therapists, families, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils
Assisting with personal care, health, and medical needs where required, with full training provided
Monitoring and celebrating pupil progress, achievements, and personal development
Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive
