NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary SEN school in Bradford, BD5.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and wants to make a genuine difference to their education, development and wellbeing.

The school provides a supportive and inclusive environment for pupils with a range of special educational needs and is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant who can build strong relationships with students and help them thrive.

About the Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to students across the school.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with their learning and development both in and outside the classroom

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required

  • Helping students engage with lessons and access the curriculum

  • Developing positive and trusting relationships with pupils

  • Supporting students with their social, emotional and behavioural development

  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive attitudes towards learning

  • Working closely with teachers and the wider SEN team to meet individual needs

  • Helping to maintain a safe, calm and positive learning environment

About You

The school is looking for someone who is patient, caring and resilient, with a genuine desire to support children and young people with additional needs.

Previous experience working with SEN is highly desirable, particularly within a school, specialist education, care or support setting. However, candidates with transferable experience and the right attitude are also encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience supporting children or young people

  • A genuine passion for working with students with SEN

  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils

  • Good behaviour management skills

  • A flexible and proactive attitude

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
