Learning Support Assistant
SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEN School - Bradford BD5
NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary SEN school in Bradford, BD5.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and wants to make a genuine difference to their education, development and wellbeing.
The school provides a supportive and inclusive environment for pupils with a range of special educational needs and is looking for a committed Teaching Assistant who can build strong relationships with students and help them thrive.
About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to students across the school.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Supporting students with their learning and development both in and outside the classroom
Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required
Helping students engage with lessons and access the curriculum
Developing positive and trusting relationships with pupils
Supporting students with their social, emotional and behavioural development
Encouraging independence, confidence and positive attitudes towards learning
Working closely with teachers and the wider SEN team to meet individual needs
Helping to maintain a safe, calm and positive learning environment
About You
The school is looking for someone who is patient, caring and resilient, with a genuine desire to support children and young people with additional needs.
Previous experience working with SEN is highly desirable, particularly within a school, specialist education, care or support setting. However, candidates with transferable experience and the right attitude are also encouraged to apply.

Experience supporting children or young people
A genuine passion for working with students with SEN
A calm, patient and nurturing approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
Good behaviour management skills
A flexible and proactive attitude
