KS1 Inclusion Support Assistant
1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Batley
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term Contract
NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for an experienced and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Batley.
This full-time opportunity involves supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis who has additional needs, which may include Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, communication difficulties, or learning disabilities. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping the pupil access learning, build confidence, and develop positive relationships within the school environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with SEN and is looking to make a genuine difference within an inclusive and supportive school setting.
The Role:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs
- Support the pupil both inside and outside of the classroom environment
- Assist with learning activities, emotional regulation, and social development
- Adapt support strategies to meet the pupil's individual needs and learning style
- Help the pupil remain engaged, focused, and confident throughout the school day
- Support positive behaviour and encourage independence
- Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and wider support staff
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
- Previous SEN experience within a school or similar setting is essential
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or communication needs is highly desirable
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to adapt quickly and work proactively
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
