Inclusion Support Worker - Alternative Provision & Behaviour Support
Location: Leeds, LS16
Contract: Full-Time, 1-Year Fixed Term, Term-Time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 3:30pm
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: £95 - £110 per day, depending on experience
About the Role
NextGen Teachers are delighted to be supporting a secondary school in Leeds (LS16) with the recruitment of a dedicated and resilient Inclusion Support Worker to join their Inclusion team from September 2026.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people who may experience barriers to learning, emotional dysregulation or behavioural challenges.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the school's Reflection Room and onsite Alternative Provision, helping students to regulate their emotions, reflect on their behaviour, restore relationships and successfully reintegrate into learning.
Key Responsibilities
Support students who are experiencing barriers to learning, behavioural challenges or emotional dysregulation.
Staff and support the school's Reflection Room.
Provide support within the school's onsite Alternative Provision.
Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
Support students to regulate their emotions and develop positive coping strategies.
Encourage reflection and promote positive behaviour.
Help students understand the impact of their behaviour and make positive choices.
Support restorative conversations and relationship building.
Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure students receive consistent support.
Help students to successfully reintegrate into lessons and wider school life.
Monitor student behaviour, engagement and progress and communicate concerns appropriately.
Promote a calm, safe and inclusive environment for all students.
Requirements
Previous experience supporting children or young people in an educational, pastoral, behavioural or similar setting.
Experience working with young people who may present with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs or emotional regulation difficulties.
A patient, calm and resilient approach.
Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with young people and establish appropriate boundaries.
Confidence supporting students through periods of emotional dysregulation.
A restorative and solution-focused approach to behaviour.
Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
Commitment to supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes.
Enhanced DBS check required prior to commencing work.
